Music, sport, performing arts, leadership, camps and international travel — there’s a place for everyone.

Co-curricular life is woven through everything we do at Sunbury College. From the College Production to the cricket nets, from the Jazz Band to the Constitutional Convention, our students get the chance to find what they love and pursue it.

Instrumental Music

Instrumental Music runs as a separate elective subject. Students are withdrawn from rotating timetabled classes for individual or small-group lessons, and are reported on each semester.

Performance activities

Tours of primary schools, festivals, annual instrumental concerts, the Carols Concert, performances for Senior Citizens groups and Probus, and VET Music students performing at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Performing Arts

Our annual College Production has run for over 40 years. Each year the production brings together cast, crew, musicians and designers from across the College.

Our annual Arts and Technology showcase, ‘Show Off’, brings food, performance and a textile catwalk together at the end of the year.

Sport

Inter-school sport

Netball, basketball, volleyball, cricket, badminton, squash and football. Sunbury College has won many State Championships across these sports over the years.

Inter-house sport

House competition runs in swimming and athletics across our four houses: Batman, Evans, Jackson and Clarke.

Academic Sports Program

Open from Year 10. Includes coaching, university visits, and representing the College in serious sporting competition.

Camps and Overseas Travel

  • Three-day camps at Year 7 and Year 8
  • Year 9 leadership and resilience day camps

  • Biennial trips to Japan via our Nagano High sister-school program
  • Small Vietnam community-project trip

Year 9 Program & Work Experience

Our Year 9 Program takes students out of the classroom to ‘learn about their city’. Year 10 Work Experience is a two-week block; VCAL/VET students complete industry work placements as part of their program.
