Our College

Welcome to Sunbury College.

A 7–12 secondary college in north-west Melbourne, central to our community since 1960.

Sunbury College is a Year 7–12 secondary college that has been central to the Sunbury community since 1960. Our long history means generations of Sunbury families have walked our corridors — and that history shapes the way we work today.

Our partnership with the school community is lived through our values of respect, responsibility, resilience and endeavour. We focus on a challenging curriculum with constantly evolving programs that ensure our students are future-ready and equipped to contribute positively to Sunbury and the wider community.

We are proud of the depth of academic opportunities at our college, and the high expectations we have of all our students. We pride ourselves on our commitment to ‘knowing your child’ — both academically and personally — and we have built our structures to support that. Year 7 Significant Teachers, Connect Teachers, Year Level Coordinators and Junior/Middle/Senior Sub-school Leaders all work together to make sure no student is anonymous.

Beyond the classroom

Our students thrive on the co-curricular opportunities provided by our leadership, sports and performing arts programs. From the College Production to the Academic Sports Program, from the Nagano sister-school exchange to the SRC, there is a place for every student to lead, perform, compete or serve.

Our wellbeing and inclusion supports run alongside the curriculum, not behind it. Our Careers and Pathways team, our Wellbeing team, our Disability Inclusion supports and our House structure all exist to make sure every student has the right people around them.

Our community

The township of Sunbury is renowned for its sense of community, and our college reflects that. Students, teachers and parents work positively in partnership, with shared goals for high educational and wellbeing outcomes. Our goal is that all students graduate as responsible and resilient young adults, having made lifelong friends and ready to succeed in a world beyond school.

I invite you to explore our website, read our prospectus, and book a tour. The best way to understand the Sunbury College community is to come and see it for yourself.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to ‘knowing your child’ both academically and personally.
