Learning

Every child can learn.

From the moment a student enrols, we identify their point of learning and build supports around it.

Our Learning Support team works to ensure every student — whatever their starting point — has what they need to make progress.

From enrolment onwards

At Year 7 we use PAT testing in literacy and numeracy, and primary feeder schools communicate baseline data so we know each student before they walk through the door. NAPLAN, Work Habits and ongoing school assessments inform teaching. Parents can monitor progress through Compass.

Year 7 fluidity allows differentiation across ability groups. We then test again at the start of Year 8 and Year 9 to monitor progress and adjust supports.

Literacy and numeracy

  • Literacy and numeracy support runs Years 7–9
  • Our Literacy Aide works three days per week
  • Our Literacy Specialist supports classrooms and runs targeted enhancement and support at Years 7–8
  • Homework Club every Monday night
  • The Library is open at lunchtimes and before/after school

Disability Inclusion

The Disability Inclusion Coordinator manages our funded Disability Inclusion program. Education Support staff work one-to-one or in classrooms. Parent meetings are held each semester.
